Ingredients:
- 3–4 king oyster mushrooms
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prep the mushrooms: Slice the king oyster mushrooms lengthwise into thick strips.
- Heat the pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Let the butter melt.
- Cook garlic: Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.
- Add mushrooms: Place the mushroom slices in the pan in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Season: Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss gently so the mushrooms absorb the garlic butter.
- Finish: Optional—add a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve as a side dish, over pasta, or with crusty bread.
